Keane

Keane  Download held off Tenacious D's 'Rise Of The Fenix' to remain top of the UK Album Chart.

The comedy duo were looking favourites to topple Keane in Wednesday's Official Chart Update, but a late surge in sales saw 'Strangeland' hold onto the Number 1 spot, reports the Official Charts Company.

Jack Black and Kyle Gass, who are Tenacious D, were forced to settle for second place, giving the duo their highest charting album to date in the UK. Their previous highest was Number 10 with 2006's 'Pick Of Destiny'.NME

Completing the Top 5 is Emeli Sande with 'Our Version Of Events' (Number 3), Adele’s 21 (Number 4) and Salford-born singer/songwriter Ren Harvieu who debuts at Number 5 with her first album, 'Through The Night'.

Elsewhere, Garbage secured a Top 10 placing with their long-awaited new album 'Not Your Kind Of People' and Beach House grabbed their first UK Top 20 album with 'Bloom' (Number 15).

Meanwhile, in the UK Singles Chart, Rita Ora held on for a second consecutive week at Number One. Her track, 'R.I.P', saw off stiff competition from FUN, whose 'We Are Young' jumped three places to Number 2.

'Call Me Maybe' by Canadian popster Carly Rae Jepsen is a non-mover at Number 3, while Alex Clare’s 'Too Close' holds strong at Number 4. Tulisa completes the Top 5 with 'Young'.

Following the death of disco legend Donna Summer last week, five of her classic singles have re-entered the charts, with 'I Feel Love' leading the way by re-entering at Number 45
