Blur

Blur Download continued their comeback with a sweaty and intimate show at London’s 100 Club last night (August 2).

The day after their triumphant comeback at Margate Winter Gardens, the reformed Britpop heroes got up close and personal at the 350-capacity venue in the heart of the capital.

The show took place as part of the ongoing series of Converse Represent shows at the iconic central London venue, which has also seen performances by Plan B and Paul Weller.

After support from Swiss Lips, Savages and The Bots, the band took to the stage at 10.20pm, powering into 'Girls And Boys'. They went on to play a truncated version of their setlist from Margate, once again bringing out the 'Chemical World' B-side 'Young And Lovely'. NME

Leaning heavily on 'Modern Life Is Rubbish' material, the band played 'Advert', 'Colin Zeal', 'Oily Water' and a triumphant 'For Tomorrow'. After just an hour, the show ended with new track 'Under The Westway', and the band left the stage without playing an encore.

Speaking ahead of the show, bassist Alex James "Graham played there in December and it was a sauna, it's going to be so hot. There's a lot more people calling me than usual! But there's nothing like the feeling playing really loud music in a hot, sweaty room with people going crackers."
