"Shiver’ continues the reoccurring theme of love and loss that Rose entwines into this album but she takes this negative combination of emotions and creates something wonderful. The lyrics define her struggle to repeat the same feeling she once had before for another lover, describing the longing for that spine-tingling feeling you may experience when in love. “And I’ll shiver like I used to and I’ll leave him just for you.”
The simple accompaniment of an acoustic guitar to vocals builds into something much more powerful than it first appears. Her voice is soft and effortless; the simplicity of it all is what makes it so magical, stripping down to everything that justifies how natural she is and revealing her touching talent as a musician.
