Avicii made "Levels," a song that you have heard) bringing out live instrumentation and taking a hundred thousand ravers on a journey through Americana. But that isn't stopping the face of Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply: On Monday, the producer born Tim Bergling dropped the video for "Wake Me Up" online. The clip is an escapist fantasy in multiple ways. The actress in the video finds a way out of a boring, hostile past into a party-laden city, and Avicii gets to include footage from Ultra that makes it look like everyone loved his set.

Limp Bizkit

Limp Bizkit
"Ready To Go (Explicit Version)
" feels like a band reawakened in many ways. At the same time, it's the Bizkit the world knows and loves from Significant Other and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water. A rumbling Wes Borland riff catapults the immortal rhythmic shake from bassist Sam Rivers and drummer John Otto forward. Fre d Durst lets loose about Britney Spears "dropping to her knees" and even name checks Lady Gaga. However, "Freddy D" is the rock god he always was just smarter, slicker, and sharper than ever

Black Onassis
offers two tracks available to stream on their website. Brain boasts a laid back, psychedelic vibe featuring the hypnotic vocals of Ben Gautrey, former member of The Cooper Temple Clause. The up-tempo Innocence Blitz features Calla front man Aurelio Valle over a pulsating bass line. It is clear that the sound isn’t too far off from Karloff’s Kasabian days, but the inventive riffs and seamless choice for collaborative vocals ensure that the project will lure in a strong following upon arrival of the debut album.

Yo La Tengo

Yo La Tengo
Fade

purposefully intended to "cut down on some of the sprawl" on the upcoming Fade. "Ohm" doesn’t extend out in length like past triumphs such as I Am Not Afraid of You And I Will Beat Your Ass' "Pass the Hatchet, I Think I’m Goodkind", but it does reach toward the same kind of brilliant simplicity this band often deploys to etch out their longer songs. The open-ended nature of their circular riffing makes if feel like a track that’s been reduced down from something bigger, with the band aiming to work only with the very essence of their sound. It aligns "Ohm" with the poppier material from Yo La Tengo’s back catalog, returning to the same kind of warm, melancholy feel of I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One's "Sugarcube".

Panic

Panic
Miss Jackson (feat. Lolo) released last single Let’s Kill Tonight -off junior album Vices and Virtues, though with their absence it’s obvious the guys have not been home twiddling their thumbs (despite what Brendon Urie’s Vine account may depict). While recruiting touring bassist, Dallon Weekes as a full time member, Urie wedding his long-time girlfriend, all while working on their follow up to the 4th album, It seems the trio have had a very busy year and a half.
Now pushing aside the unanswered question whether the band would make an appearance this year, and better yet, whether or not the outcome would be more Pretty.Odd. than we would have wanted, we’re put out of our misery with the very flashy Miss Jackson.
Okay upon first listen we have a feeling we’ve heard an intro like this before, or at least we think we have. Then the penny drops, this intro makes us think of the opening scenes to L.A. Noir, yes the game. I know, it’s random. But with the whole 40s theme with the echoing vocals and faint yet slightly noir- school feel to the backing track, we have to think are Panic! at the Disco are either really big Rockstar game fans or they really are going backwards as opposed to forward.
Though no longer than 12 seconds in and we’re thrusted back into the 21st century with music that is very reminiscent of now and more notably very Fall Out Boy’s My Song Know What You Did In The Dark. With everything from gang vocals, edgy backing tracks and Urie’s signature symphonies laced with a slight speakerphone echo, its evident there’s nothing flowery or Beatles-like here, thank heavens!

Hung On Tight

10th most blogged about act in the world — not bad for a bunch of teenagers from Melbourne, Australia. With the release of their first LP Sleep In The Water less than a month away, the band has finally unveiled the video to lead single “Hung On Tight” and it comes as something as a shock to fans of the sunnily psychedelic buzz track “Air” and even the moody “Dance Bear”.
“Hung On Tight” finds the band in a dark, dark place. There’s an intensity and gloominess on display that reminds me of The Cure but then a melodic aspect that is completely original. The haunting song gets a suitably disturbing video. A guy wakes up in an ice bath to discover he’s missing an organ and then decides to sing karaoke before things go really bad. It’s an Australian horror story told with skill and visual flair. Watch the grim visual above.

Blessed Unrest

original material that had fans snapping up tickets for this solo tour in a matter of minutes, and Bareilles is no slouch in that department,” isn’t necessarily the one you’d choose to make the best case for her songwriting chops. “Love Song,” her 2007 breakout, remains as catchy a pop song as the 21st century has produced, with its ideal blend of hooky coloratura and conversational lyrics. That one works equally well with or without a band, since in either case the rhythmic emphasis remains on her Ben Folds-like quarter notes on the keyboard (worth noting: Folds himself was in attendance). Some of her other more poppy material, like “Uncharted,” “King of Anything,” and even “Brave,” came off better in concert, sans the bells and whistles that producers have added to convince radio that she’s not a one-trick piano woman.

Capturing the attentions of renowned producer James Kenosha (Lone Wolf, Pulled Apart By Horses), the band were led to recording their double A-sideWildfire/Demons under his seasoned watch. With Even Tundra the time came to remove the mask and avoid taking shelter in any particular scene or genre. He describes making the album as ' like making a folk record - just me, my sound lab and an emotion or atmosphere i wanted to hear - not a dance floor i wanted to fill.'

Take A Look At The World feat. Annie (Original Version)

collaboration “Take A Look At The World” over that solo single — and behold! Now it has a video.
There’s not much to see here — it’s mostly just Annie in the backseat of a car, looking like the chic Norwegian ice queen she is — but there’s a nicely hypnotic quality to the clip. It’s Annie taking a look at the world; it’s the viewer taking a look at Annie taking a look at the world. And the song is still great.

single issued off his pretty fantastic 18 MonthsLP — the Ayah Marar-featuring “Thinking About You.” This is great news, given that “Thinking About You” is the best song on the album, a hidden gem tucked away as the last track.
Sure, Ayah — who previously took on vocal duties on Harris’ brilliant 2009 single “Flashback” —  isn’t a big name yet like FlorenceEllieKelis or Ne-Yo. But “Thinking About You” is what you would call a proper summer single. Very proper. Here’s “In the mood for a little retro house? Hands Like Houses
A Fire On A Hill

“A Fire On A Hill” and it is burning up our speakers.
The track comes off of the band’s upcoming album, Unimagine, that hits stores on July 23 through Rise Records. Frontman Todd Woodley told BluntMag a little about their anticipated release. “Unimagine, for us, is the result of the last two years of our lives. Everything we have seen, learned and experienced, personally and as a band, has found its way into this record one way or another. It’s one thing to write an album, but to create something out of a deeper understanding of yourself and your abilities, especially with all the pressures of expectations you’ve built up along the way is a massive challenge. And in a way, that’s what the album is about – finding happiness and satisfaction by deconstructing what has brought you this far and creating a foundation to create and grow from.”

Britney Spears

Ooh La La (from The Smurfs 2)

Ive Been fan longer than I'd like to admit. I used to sing her songs to myself quietly, and practice all her dance moves. Remember those two half-up ponytails she used to rock? Yeah, I did that, too.
She was special to me. So special, she was my first concert, and I had fun amidst the nosebleed seats. We like to think of Rihanna as the "good girl gone bad," but the original was Britney. She was the first (in my eyes) to go from small-town bubbly pop princess to sassy, rebellious superstar.

Taking Over

Taking Over', the next single from his top ten charting album 'Don't Forget Who You Are', out August 19th on Columbia Records.
Written by Miles and Ian Broudie (The Zutons, Echo and the Bunnymen), 'Taking Over' is well on it's way to being one of the festival anthems of the summer, having already got the crowds frothing at Glastonbury & Hard Rock Calling.
The album 'Don't Forget Who You Are' has struck a chord with critics everywhere, taking in four star reviews from the NME, The Independent, The Times, the Guardian, MOJO and Q who trumpeted ".it's time for Miles Kane's turn in the spotlight."

Laura Mvula

Laura Mvula
She
has been garnering plenty of adoring reviews across the pond. Even before her debut album Sing to the Moon was released in Britain, she was shortlisted for the prestigious Critics Choice Award at the 2013 BRIT awards. Since the album was released, Mvula’s bright-hued retro-soul has been praised to the heavens for originality while simultaneously being compared to the luminary likes of Nina Simone and David Axelrod. Much of the praise is richly deserved. Sing to the Moon, which was just released here in the States, is a triumph of arrangement and melody: Songs like opener “Like the Morning Dew”, or the gorgeous title track, combine earworm hooks with beautiful, uniquely shaped verses, and showcase the open-hearted faith in the world that is clearly Mvula’s
calling card. Even when her lyrics communicate melancholy, it seems the singer has no choice but to sound defiantly anti-blue.

Mario feat. Nicki Minaj

Somebody Else [Explicit]

delivers the anticipated music video to his Nicki Minaj-assisted single, “Somebody Else.” The song, which discusses a story that we all know so well, of being left in a relationship, has been taking over
radio stations everywhere and serves as a great comeback for the veteran artist.
With a pending September release for his fifth studio album, tentatively titled ‘Restoration,’ Mario notes that this album will differ immensely from is predecessors. With the current single “Somebody Else” garnering much attention and a said follow-up titled “Fatal Distraction” featuring J. Cole, we’re anticipating this album to bring his talents back to the forefront of R&B.

 What Love is Made of

few could rival the English chanteuse’s lo-fi garage-inflected pop, shot through with dubstep and drum-and-bass, which was on full display in 2011′s On a Mission LP and last year’s exceptional Danger EP — and she’s shaping up to be again with the sound of her new single, “What Love Is Made Of.” The song, just premiered on Annie Mac‘s BBC Radio 1 show, is probably the biggest thing she’s recorded to date: The ’90s groove is timely enough, but her vocals sound more powerful than before, and the melody is absolutely instantaneous.  It’s rave-y, it’s trance-y, and it deserves to be a club hit.

“Dive In,” and a new album Diamond Dust. NewNowNext chatted with front woman Heloise Williams about the band’s new sound, crossing paths with Lady Gaga and stepping away from the music scene.
Where has Willams been the past few years? After hooking up with Brooklyn’s legendary indie-music scene, she took a sabbatical of sorts in Vermont, pursuing a degree and recharging her creative battery. “I felt I was unclear about what was coming from me and what was the scene,” says Williams. “I wanted to isolate myself, think over what I wanted to write about.”
While “Dive In” is the band’s call to seize the day, Williams says the video is a “homage” to gay rights.  “[We were thinking] about gay marriage and all the embarrassing, horrible attacks around the word.” The rainbow saturated clip was also influenced by queer musician Arthur Russell’s avant-garde remixes and Andy Warhol’s infamous screen tests.

His fourth studio album follows the success of its predecessors Memories and Dust (2007), Chimney’s Afire (2008) and Only Sparrows (2011), and its upbeat lead single was the second most played on Triple J over the past couple weeks. Pyke spoke to LUNA about the upcoming album (due out July 6th) and plans to hit the road again in the months ahead.
“Things are ramping up – getting the band and set together for the tour in August, and also balancing family life. It is difficult, but I can’t imagine it’s any more difficult than any other family balancing work and life.”
“This is the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do and I get a lot of joy from it. There’s anxiety and the stress of being away from home, but every night I get to play songs for people who want to be there, who paid good money to be there, and that’s a special privilege that I don’t take for granted.”
Pyke describes this record as a personal insight into “the most intense few years” of his life, and he hopes this will make it particularly relatable.

“Dance The Pain Away” is a bona fide summer anthem that will ignite the crowds this festival season. The duo unveiled “Dance The Pain Away” to the world at this year’s Coachella (Saturday, April 13) when Legend made a special surprise appearance during Benny’s stellar performance at the Sahara Tent. Featured by CNN, the Los Angeles Times, Fuse and USA Today, who highlighted the performance as one of Saturday’s best surprises, the set was one of the most memorable moments at Coachella 2013.
Directed by Cameron Duddy, the video brings the song to life as it takes fans on a scenic drive along the famed Pacific Coastal Highway in Los Angeles with Benny Benassi behind the wheel of a classic Porsche 550 Spyder. Red is the fifth single release from Taylor's multi-award winning fourth album of the same name.
Taylor is so busy touring the album at the moment, she hasn't had much time to put together a brand new video. Therefore, she's opted for a montage of concert footage mixed up with some exclusive backstage action.
Though it's a little simple, the concert highlights actually work well with the song. We get to see Taylor donning diverse stage outfits, playing different instruments and dancing in that awkward way we've come to know and love. Plus we get to see how the crowd reacts to her performances.

Pitbull

Pitbull
Outta Nowhere with yet another catchy, radio-ready cut. While it might be the Cubano star’s single, his guest, Danny Mercer, has his fingerprints all over it. In addition to providing one hell of an ear candy hook and sharing song writing duties, Mercer also composed the ebullient, piano driven instrumental. Pitbull himself is no slouch, though, crushing two verses in his energetic, recognizable style. You can find both Feel This Moment and Outta Nowhere on the 305 boss’ latest album
