"Graceless" video. "Filming the video involved a great deal of binge drinking beer," Matt Berninger told Rolling Stone of filming the Trouble Will Find Me clip. "We shot it at my mom and dad’s house in Cincinnati and kind of destroyed the place and ourselves along the way."
Sure enough, the black-and-white video, directed by Sophia Peer, features the National in suits, riding bicycles into the pool and shotgunning lots of beer. "I gave myself a minor concussion, head injury on the slip and slide," bassist Scott Devendorf told Rolling Stone. Bryce Dessner got a back injury during filming, and Berninger suffered a face injury.
