Jake Bugg

Jake Bugg
launched into ‘Seen It All’, there was the feeling that the gig was yet to really get going, but there remained plenty of time. This was followed by the unquestionably Dylan-esque ‘The Ballad of Mr. Jones’, which gave Jake a chance to show off his talents on electric guitar: he certainly succeeded.
The pace of the gig then slowed a bit as Jake demonstrated the talents that first garnered him attention – the 18 year old alone on stage with an acoustic guitar. As talented as Jake is as a songwriter and guitarist, his lack of charisma unfortunately meant that the songs didn’t truly penetrate the heart in the same way as they do on record. This lack of charisma unfortunately seemed to be the problem throughout the first two thirds of the gig – the crowd lapped up the songs, but Jake only rarely seemed to mirror this excitement on stage. He obviously thanked the home crowd for their support throughout, but there was no gushing praise like the crowd were giving to him. We have to cut Jake some slack, he is of course only 18 and the weight of expectation seemed to burden him throughout the night.

Lily Allen

Lily Allen

The Smile singer, who now goes by her married name Lily Rose Cooper, is thought to be working on her third studio LP - with a source telling The Sun that she's nervous because her new material is different to her previous sound.Amazon
The insider revealed: "She feels it's been too long since she was big. She's really anxious about what people will think of her new material and whether they'll like it - indeed, whether they'll still like her.
"She's having a kind of identity crisis at the moment. She's trying to reinvent her image because before she had a 'f**k you' attitude which just isn't relevant now she's a mother.MTV
"She's been through a lot since her last album so she's going to explore that pain and experience on her new album."

Biffy Clyro

Biffy Clyro
The Scottish rockers sixth studio album sold an impressive 75,000 copies in its first week, eclipsing the 43,000 previous album 'Only Revolutions' sold, to debut in at the top, Amazon

Bridgit Mendler

Bridgit Mendler
Amazon ‘Ready or Not.’ The song is an upbeat, bright and sunny dance song, but it’s by no means a club banger.

Bolstered by a backbeat that follows Mendler’s voice throughout the song, ‘Ready or Not’ will inspire pre-teen girls to grab their hairbrushes and use them as makeshift microphones while they sing in front of a mirror. It’s a cute, frothy, female-leaning pop gem.
On the pop music scale, Mendler falls somewhere between Carly Rae Jepsen and early Rihanna, before she was using her music as a substitute for sex. Mendler is sugary sweet, but she isn’t afraid to turn up the spice and the sass, from a lyrical perspective.
She sings about being amidst a pack of people, noting, “In the crowd / The music’s loud / But I will find you.” She sings it like she means it, like a girl with a crush on the prowl. Even so, this is not a “throw ya hands up” dance jam fit for the drinking set. The song is all glistening, poppy rhythms and her lyrics mostly skew young, like 14 and under, even when she sings, “I like your face / Do you like my song?” There’s nothing overly sexual or subversive there.

Little Mix

Almost channeling All Saints' Never Ever, the tune begins with a spoken-word intro from Leigh-Anne. Very dramatic, very serious, lovely stuff. Amazon
Next, it all takes an epic turn as the mid-tempo stadium anthem really kicks in with tumbling R&B piano chords and a pulsating, driving beat.
The power-ballad song and empowering message don't disappoint, but we are slightly frustrated by the simple backstage tour-style video.
Watch the vid below and leave your thoughts in the comments section. It's a lot more simple and basic than the man-eating, exciting and fiery DNA video, but maybe that's the whole point of the song?

Britney Spears

Britney Spears
BuzzFeed has quoted a representative for Caesers Palace, where Britters was claimed to be signing up for a £63m residency, as saying the venue was not in negotiations with the star.
Emily Wofford, public relations director for Caesers Entertainment, said that the venue was "packed every weekend" for months and that the firm is "engaged with a number of today's top artists in discussions regarding headlining residencies at our venues in Las Vegas".
But although Britney isn't on the list at the moment, Wofford said her company is "always interested in having artists with the calibre of Britney Spears performing at our theatres."
Speculation that Britney had a Vegas residency lined-up began as soon as she announced she would not be returning to The X Factor USA.
Celine Dion, Elton John and Shania Twain are among the big-name acts with residencies at the venue already.
