The 24-year-old pop star and her 31-year-old beau have blamed their busy schedules for the end of their nine-month relationship.
Dave, who models for Dolce and Gabbana, told The People newspaper: "Sadly me and Mollie have split. It just wasn't the right timing and we were both so busy.
"I have been over in the States three times this month and a relationship can't take that.
"Mollie is an incredibly beautiful, lovely girl and so grounded. But it just didn't work out. Maybe in a few years when we are at different stages in our career we can make it work."
The pair had previously seemed quite attached to one another, with talk of moving to India to open a hotel together.
But Mollie seems to be keeping her chin up anyway, and has been staying at her mum's in the wake of the split.
She tweeted: "Been staying at mums this week, it's the best 'hotel'!!! ...Although not sure what the reaction would be to late night room service!!!!"
