Mikill Pane

Mikill Pane
has just released his new single Summer in the City. Signed to Universal from his early mixtapes and reputation of impeccable live performances, Mikill has already worked with some hot producers. His debut album ‘Blame Miss Barclay’ is a true Londoner album – filled with memories of hot days in the park and great parties. Mikill is a feel good artist, who has obviously learnt a lot from his old friend Ed Sheeran – he speaks the truth in a way everyone can relate too. He has just released a lyric video for Summer in the City, so you can lie back in this blazing weather and sing along.

Daley

Daley

One month removed from the breakup, how is the Universal Republic R&B singer holding up? Not so well, actually. On this freshly-minted promo single, the still grief-stricken crooner goes so far as to swear off romance altogether, pledging, “I’m never gonna love this way again / I’m never gonna give my heart again / ‘Cause every time I try I end up Broken.” Producers Chris Loco and Bernard Butler offset the record’s doleful tone behind the boards, backing Daley’s poignant vocal performance with sweeping strings and a surprisingly aggressive rhythm section.

Give It 2 U (Album Version (Explicit)) [feat. Kendrick Lamar]
'Give It 2 U,' what did you have in mind?"
"Mostly I'd like to be surrounded by hundreds of beautiful, hard-working, talented college-aged women in various states of dress, while I do next to nothing at all. If we shoot it on a football field, perhaps that will give the impression that I'm athletic and that I'm desirable, because I am quite literally playing the field and committing to nothing but my avoidance of physical activity."
"Do you want it to have a similar feel to 'Blurred Lines?'"
"Yes, if we could intermittently throw the performing troupes' names and other names and stuff in red sans serif font all up on there, it might look like art, or sarcasm."
"Great, so the university dance teams will wear their usual uniforms?"
"Well, some of them. Others will need to wear protective upper body gear, like a football player, which will guarantee maximum discomfort and the threat of literally sweating ones' boobs off. Bring in the Luxury Girls, a name I only know as phone sex workers but might also be some other thing that involves cosplay.

Trouble Will Find Me [Explicit]

"Graceless" video. "Filming the video involved a great deal of binge drinking beer," Matt Berninger told Rolling Stone of filming the Trouble Will Find Me clip. "We shot it at my mom and dad’s house in Cincinnati and kind of destroyed the place and ourselves along the way."
Sure enough, the black-and-white video, directed by Sophia Peer, features the National in suits, riding bicycles into the pool and shotgunning lots of beer. "I gave myself a minor concussion, head injury on the slip and slide," bassist Scott Devendorf told Rolling Stone. Bryce Dessner got a back injury during filming, and Berninger suffered a face injury.

Conor Maynard

Conor  Maynard
has now premiered the music video for 'R U Crazy' today (27th August) that sees him struggling to deal with a woman who has messed him around.

The video also kicks off with a vintage style look for the UK singer-songwriter, as he performs with an old-school band while dressed up in a black tuxedo.

The single will be the first to be released from Conor's brand new studio album, which follows his debut 'Contrast' last year

The video begins with the girls, complete with 70s bangs, trying to repair their VW campervan which has broken down. They don't seem too worried as they smile, laugh and sing. Luckily five blokes turn up to help.

I had witnessed a couple times before over the last two years whilst I have been a fan of Tich’s for about 4 years when she just performed as Rachel Furner. As for Rixton I witnessed them at The Silver Bullet when they were know as Relics and I was rather impressed with the material they had. So I arrived at the Queen Of Hoxton about a couple of hours before doors. As it was freezing cold as it had been snowing I decided just to wait inside. When the doors eventually opened I went in and waited patiently for the first act to take to the stage.

Daft Punk ft.Pharrell Williams

.
Lose Yourself to Dance

previous single Get Lucky are subtle and few. Both featured a bedazzled Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers and a pair of shiny French cyborgs. However, the main difference seems to be Lose Yourself To Dance depicts the gang performing for a horde of partying fans atop a PYRAMID, coz that’s how Daft Punk roll.

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding
Burn
’ which Goulding co-wrote with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic. It’s uplifting and uptempo, a synth-heavy track that plants a toe in the EDM world. While ‘Burn’ is undeniably catchy, it’s not the singer’s most memorable track to date.

Goulding’s voice is certainly one of the most unique and beguiling in pop music, and it’s one that sticks with you, without ever resorting to being diva-like. Her vocals are angelic and ethereal, and here, she is surrounded by church bells and lots of computerized layers. She literally sounds like an angel.

The chorus is hooky, as Goulding declares, “We’re gonna let it burn, burn, burn,” with a swath of effects placed over her voice. Her vocal style is an acquired taste, but if you love how she uses and manipulates it, then you will certainly feel the heat on this track.

Elton John

Elton John
Home Again

first single certainly points in that direction. Musically, the ballad doesn’t sound all that different than many of the slower-tempo songs John has released since that ‘Lion King’ hit almost 20 years ago. Starting spare with just a piano, ‘Home Again’ builds with strings, a lush arrangement and big percussion blasts before coming full circle at the end, closing with the same piano notes that open the song.

Lyrically, John is in a reflective mood, looking back: “I’m counting on the memories to get me out of here,” he sings in the song’s opening line. By the time he gets around to the chorus — “We all dream of leaving but wind up in the end spending all of our time trying to get back home again” — ‘Home Again’ isn’t so much about returning to a place to stay there, but returning to find inspiration.

Late Nights & Traffic Lights
'

through indie label Twin Pines Records on Monday 16th September.

Produced by Anthony Galatis of Tinderbox Songs and mastered by Christian Wright at Abbey Road Studios, ‘Late Nights and Traffic Lights’, is a tale of one man busking late at night trying to leave behind the seedy surroundings, and the characters that he met on the way, “
People would have fights around me, steal money from guitar case.

John Newman

John Newman
Cheating is also the topic of his latest effort, but this time the roles have been shuffled: the woman is running around behind her man’s back, and Newman is boyfriend number two. Unsurprisingly, he has a considerably sunnier outlook on infidelity this time around. Over his, Anthony Whiting and Mark Spencer‘s driving production, he encourages her to keep up her dirty deeds: “If you’re cheatin’ / Cheat on yeah / Cause cheating’s just a thing you do.”

Lucy Spraggan

Lucy Spraggan
She began her whopping 15-track set with 91, a cute and jaunty lullaby about falling in love. Carried by a sea of cheers, she then launched into the ridiculously infectious Paper Dreams. Be warned, after one listen you may just be singing this one all summer long.
Tea and Toast, a track which was inspired by seeing an old couple in the park, provided the most emotional moment of the night when the teary-eyed singer declared: "I can officially say I'll never get tired of hearing Tea and Toast sung back to me".

The  latest ultra-lovely ballad proves once and for all that this British singer/songwriter is among the very best in the biz!!
Ch-ch-check out his brand new video for Grow Old With Me (above)!
At 22, the pianist might be a tad young to be so focused on growing old, but the sentiment is beautifully moving!

Newton Faulkner
his new single ‘Losing Ground’ on September 8th.
The track is taken from the artist’s forthcoming album release ‘Studio Zoo’ due for release on August 26th.
While making the album, Newton made history as he live-streamed the entire recording process 24/7 for 5 weeks from his home studio.

Avril Lavigne

Avril Lavigne

“Rock N Roll”  and if you’re wondering whether or not it’s amazing? Well, it has a comic book, post-apocalyptic theme and some girl on girl action with Winnie Cooper. That could be deemed great by some circles.
“Rock N Roll” is the second single off Lavigne’s upcoming self-titled album that’s slated to drop next month. Despite the horrible product placement with Sony, the song will actually be a nice addition to both the Kidz Bop and NOW compilations in the future.

Lady Ga Ga

Lady Ga Ga

Applause
With eye-popping scenes of the singer transforming into a swan, writhing on a mattress and posing as Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, the imagery is a lot to take in considering this generation’s short attention span. Our own Carl Williott said the clip is “more art and less pop,” noting that it “lacks the narrative structure and ‘wow’ factor of many of Gaga’s prior works.”

Gaga’s artistry has always been polarizing and the “Applause” video is no different, which left critics with divergent opinions.

:: Consequence of Sound takes a playful jab at the singer’s current chart position, saying “Gaga’s head appears on a black swan and she boogies down in a clam bikini. If this doesn’t bump up her sales, I no longer believe in art.”
