Download have been making some bold claims about their upcoming fourth album - which we now know is called 'Velociraptor!' (gotta love that exclam) .
They reckon it's "heavy" and "squares up to you." They also say it's a "jukebox album", in the sense that every song's a potential smash.Well now we can test the truth of some of those claims, since they just premiered a track from the album, 'Switchblade Smiles' on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show.
First impression? They've only gone a bit Crystal Castles!
At least, it starts off that way, all 8-bit and arpeggiated, before settling into a (slightly) more familiar aggro-rock groove, anchored by a hefty-yet-brittle guitar riff and the satisfying hook, "Can you feel it coming (OOF!)... can you feel it coming (OOF!)".
