The 80ft narrowboat hotel on Albert Dock opened at the weekend. It can accommodate up to eight people and is the brainchild of a businessman called Alfie Bubbles, reports the Daily Mail.
The narrowboat previously belonged to Paramount Studios and was used in the film The Hunt for the Red October. The hotel has three bedrooms and a lounge, which contains a scooter used in the film Quadrophenia. Rooms cost £149 - £350 a night.NME
Earlier this year, the 1968 animated movie and accompanying album which inspired the floating hotel, was restored and re-released. The team behind the release decided against the usual practice of using automated software to digitally clean up the film. Instead, due to the "delicate nature of the hand-drawn original artwork", the team updated the film frame-by-frame.
