first original recorded piece of music would be a credible, slightly edgy pop record, right? Well frankly no, wrong.
An attempt at an old jass/motown/blues backing track at the start (which sounds OK) is intercepted by some rough heavy distorted beat. This is joined by traditional X Factor female diva chorus. Then cue Arthur’s vocal. The most ironic thing is Gary Barlow has taken the mick of a couple of contestants auditioning and their broken attempts to extend a note. Well move over auditionees, James Arthur brings that to life in the track.
