Cheryl Cole's ex-hubby Ashley Cole allegedly fled a VIP club in London after Chezza's manager and close pal Will.I.Am turned up at the same venue.
According to the Daily Star, the Chelsea footballer spotted Will in Mayfair's celeb haunt Whisky Mist, and was just seconds away from coming face-to-face with the Black Eyed Peas rapper - who has made no secret of his dislike of the Girls Aloud star's former beau.
A source told the tabloid: "Ashley was drinking vodka and chatting to a very beautiful blonde. He seemed to be really enjoying himself, when suddenly he looked up and saw Will making his way across the floor.
“It was like a bolt of lightning. Ashley leapt up and called his driver Abs. He wanted to get out of there ASAP and that was that.”
The mole continued: "Ashley really hates Will and credits him with the turmoil of his bust-up with Cheryl. They clashed once before and Ashley wants nothing to do with him.”
Cheryl's mum Joan Callaghan has reportedly 'begged' the 3 Words singer to ditch Ashley for good and move on, with a source telling Now magazine: "She told Cheryl that she'll be single and childless for ever unless she breaks off contact with him."
In other Chezza related news, the 28-year old Geordie is apparently recording her eagerly anticipated duet with Rihanna this week, with the popstar pair planning to meet at a studio in Los Angeles.
