Russell Brand On Katy Perry Split: "I Am Quite Well"

Russell Brand has broken his silence since announcing his divorce from wife Katy Perry, claiming he is doing "quite well" since the split.
Speaking at the TCA press tour in California on Sunday (15th January) to promote his new show Strangely Uplifting, the comedian answered several questions regarding the break down of his 14-month marriage.
When asked how he is coping with the break-up from the Firework singer, Brand replied: "[I am] quite well, thank you. Are you asking because of recent events? Well I suppose what you're doing is you're making the mistake of seeing time as linear.
"The brilliant American author Kurt Vonnegut, he'll tell ya that if you imagine reality as experienced simultaneously, events become redundant."
The Get Him To The Greek actor went on to explain that details of his private life should not be a concern for anyone else but his family and friends, stating: "I don't want to further celebrate the overly elaborate, brittle plastic structures of nonsense that are constantly fired into our minds to distract us from what's really important,
"So if I'd done something actually newsworthy... then I'd cover it. But if it was just more lacquered nonsense, designed to distract us from truth, then I would wisely ignore it."
While Russell was quizzed about their split, Perry has apparently been spotted wearing her wedding ring in California, with a source telling the Daily Star: "Katy wearing a ring is sending out a bit of a message to him.
"When Russell filed for divorce it was more of a shock to her. It has been such a tough couple of weeks. Now the ball is back in his court.”
Despite reports suggesting that the 27-year old was planning to meet Brand during his trip to LA to discuss their divorce, Katy was snapped at LAX airport this morning (17th January) with The Mirror claiming she's heading for Singapore, still sporting her new bright blue hairstyle.
