Russell 'Removed Wedding Ring' Weeks Before Divorce

A video has emerged of Russell Brand removing his wedding ring a month before he filed for divorce from wife, Katy Perry.

In the clip, which is thought to have been filmed in November 2011, the Get Him To The Greek actor is seen taking off the silver wedding band and reveals that he's preparing for "a week of revolution" during his US university college stand-up tour.

Brand then goes on to state that he's planning to learn "first hand" about the sexy antics of female students, discarding his wedding ring and stating he will hide it "somewhere very, very safe" while he hits the road.

The video was originally posted on porn website Nudevista, as the 34-year old funnyman explained: "I am going to meet people from sororities and fraternities.

"I don't know what a sorority is except for what I have seen on Nudevista - that they are sort of sex clubs for women.

"A week of revolution and, more importantly, I am going to learn first-hand about sororities."

Taking off his wedding ring, Russell added: "I'm just going to place this somewhere very, very safe for the next week."

Last month, Brand confirmed he had filed for divorce from Katy, with reports suggesting he was 'jealous' of the Teenage Dream singer's bond with ex-boyfriend, Travie McCoy.

Speaking of Katy and the Gym Class Heroes frontman's relationship, a source told Heat magazine: "They'd often speak at strange times of the night because they travel a lot,

"It's fair to say that she opened up to him about how hard her marriage had come. Travie never really 'got' Russell or their marriage."
